Smart Home. Navigation systems. Autonomous vehicles. Artificial intelligence is gaining ground in many areas. But does this mean we should be afraid that computers will replace humans in our jobs, as some blockbusters predict?
To answer that, we need to ask ourselves what the future of work will look like. There are many scenarios from respected economists who agree on at least one thing: AI-based processes and the increasing availability of data will fundamentally change the world of work. But opinions differ on how. While some say that humans will no longer work in the future because machines will take over, others go in the opposite direction and see a future in which human work will be upgraded.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the ability of computers to learn data on their own without being specifically programmed to do so. This puts them in a position to solve structured problems.
We can't see into the future either. But if we take a closer look at the whole thing, we believe it can develop in four directions in the future:
Let's now take a look at the world of workforces. Regardless of which services are fulfilled by teams on site, whether technical services, field service activities or care services, this is where people are called upon with their emotional and empathic abilities.
Artificial intelligence will therefore not be able to replace this work in the foreseeable future. However, it will help to optimize processes in order to improve the quality of work. Workforce management software like Celero One builds on this kind of technological support. With standardized processes, just-in-time analytics and much more, data is becoming a supporting and also driving force of human development and business success.
What we as humans definitely need to adapt to, more so than ever before, is the fact that lifelong learning and constant change is the basis for life and therefore also working life.
